Individual
Voluntary Arrangement
As part of the Insolvency Act
1986 the Government introduced a scheme called an Individual Voluntary
Arrangement (IVA) to enable individuals to write off debts that they
cannot afford pay. An Individual Voluntary Arrangement is an
alternative to bankruptcy that enables an individual to keep all of
their assets (house for example) and become debt free. Upto
75% of your debt can be completely written off.
Who is
eligible for an
Individual Voluntary Arrangement?
If you have debts in excess of
£5000 owed to 2 or more creditors then you should fill in the
form to the right to see if an Individual Voluntary Arrangement is
right for you. The advice is free, you are under no
obligation and we can offer guaranteed acceptance onto an
Individual Voluntary Arrangement if you meet the criteria.
Types of
debt covered by an Individual Voluntary Arrangement
Unsecured debts such as credit
card debts, personal loans, store cards, and overdrafts are all covered
by an Individual Voluntary Arrangement. Secured loans (mortgages),
council tax arrears and fines are not covered.
How
long will an Individual Voluntary Arrangement take to set up?
Once we have assessed whether you
are eligible for an Individual Voluntary Arrangement we will fast track
your application. Our debt experts will take over all contact
with your creditors, and they will stop chasing you for payment.
Under the terms of your Individual Voluntary Arrangement you
will have one affordable monthly repayment, and all other debt will be
written off. You will be debt free in 36 - 60 months. |
